The real history of the Holy Grail which is an amethyst, extending back to Adam
of the Bible and continuing to the present day. A summary of its most important keepers is provided. Stories of the 'grail' extend no further into the past than the discovery of the Stone by the Templars in 1227 and any supposed connection to Jesus and even more improbably King Arthur is fiction invented by the grail romancers of the 13th century.
